Bangladesh (BD) has gained single-ticket access to 4,400 destinations across more than 190 countries following the launch of Hahn Air’s HR-169 platform, a development officials say will significantly ease complex travel for migrant workers, students and business travellers.
German carrier unveiled the service at an event on Thursday evening at a capital's hotel in Banani, announcing that the system now links Bangladeshi passengers to over 350 partner airlines, removing longstanding barriers to booking remote or multi-city routes.
Md Masuduzzaman, Head of Business Development at Rhythm Group, the GSA of Hahn Air in Bangladesh, described the launch as “transformative,” noting that destinations in Africa and South America, previously inaccessible through conventional booking channels, can now be reached with a single seamless ticket.
“If a migrant worker needs to reach a remote African destination or even a South American destination, say Brazil or Peru, it was not possible previously. But we can do it now,” he said in his welcome remarks.
Platform is expected to benefit Bangladesh’s large migrant workforce as well as students and business travellers navigating complex itineraries across the United States, Canada and the European Union.
Travel agencies will now be able to design routes to nearly any global city without being constrained by airline alliances.
Bharat Kapoor, Regional Vice President of Agency Distribution at Hahn Air, briefed participants on the platform’s capabilities. Founded in 1994, Hahn Air holds IATA and IOSA certifications and offers 24/7 service desk support with automatic insolvency protection.
Nadid Shahriar, Manager of Inside Sales at Hahn Air, highlighted the extensive process behind securing BSP approval for Bangladesh. The system now displays 140,000 flights through H1 and X1 codes, including low-cost and regional carriers not previously available in global distribution systems.
HR-169 platform also provides ADM waiver and Securtix protection, ensuring unused portions of tickets are automatically refunded if any partner airline faces insolvency.
